RV Winterization and Dewinterizing in Waco, TX

Waco is not Colorado, but we still get nights that split lines. A coach stored in a driveway or lot with water left in the system is a spring surprise: burst fittings, a ruined water pump, and a water heater full of cracked parts.

Relax RV Service winterizes and dewinterizes RVs on-site in Waco and Central Texas.

Why winterize here

Central Texas freezes are short and uneven. That is what gets people. The forecast looks fine, then a front drops into the 20s overnight. Water in the pump, water heater, filters, and low points in the lines does not care that it will be 70 on Thursday.

If the coach sits unused from November through February — even in Hewitt or Woodway — winterize it.

What winterization includes

  • Drain the fresh tank, water heater, and lines

  • Bypass the water heater when the system allows

  • Pump RV antifreeze through faucets, showers, toilets, and outside showers

  • Protect the water pump, filters, and ice maker lines when equipped

  • Check low-point drains and city-water inlets

  • Walk you through what was done so you are not guessing in March

We use RV plumbing antifreeze — not automotive antifreeze.

Dewinterizing in the spring

  • Flush antifreeze from the system

  • Sanitize the fresh water system when you want it done right

  • Reinstall filters and set the water heater back in service

  • Check for leaks that showed up after sitting all winter

  • Confirm the pump, faucets, and toilet fill as they should

Spring is also a smart time to glance at the roof and AC before travel season. Ask when you book if you want those checked the same visit.

Who this is for

  • Travel trailers and fifth wheels stored at the house

  • Coaches sitting on a lot in McLennan County

  • Snowbirds staging through Waco

  • Anyone who got caught last year and does not want a repeat

Winterization FAQs

When should I winterize in Waco?
Before the first hard freeze. For most Central Texas owners, that means late fall, not the night the freeze warning hits. Weekend slots go first when a front is on the map.

Can I winterize it myself?

Some owners can. The misses we fix in March are almost always the water heater, the pump, an ice maker line, or an outdoor shower nobody flushed.

Do you use air or antifreeze?
The antifreeze method is what we use for a stored coach. If you have a special setup, say so when you call.

What does dewinterizing cost versus a burst line?
Dewinterizing is a service call. A split line, dead pump, and water heater tank is a much longer day. Winterize.
