Why RV air conditioners fail in Central Texas

Texas heat is harder on a rooftop unit than a mild climate. Common causes we see locally:

  • Clogged evaporator or condenser coils packed with cottonwood, dust, and bug debris

  • Low or leaked refrigerant

  • Failed start capacitors and fan motors

  • Dirty filters and restricted airflow

  • Cracked shrouds and leaky duct runs that dump cold air into the ceiling
